"for the realization that our voice is something more than the vibrations from our vocal chords" - Chris Faroe
Head over to Chris’ site to purchase one of many beautiful handmade (with ALL of the love) post-cards, albums, and map books. They’re all inspiring as music and as art, as is Chris as a person.
Listen, real talk, Mike Savino’s going to change the world with his banjotron. But he needs money to do so. Be about it.
Jared Singer changed my life tonight.
JOHN ELLIOTT’s album Good Goodbyes is out TODAY and if you’re like me, you now own the very beautiful - and slightly less practical - cassette tape version and now you can own it in MP3 form! Amazon, Itunes, you pick your fave.
In honor of CMJ 2013 starting today, I would like to tell you about one of my favorite bands who I saw for the very first time (and then two other times that same week) at CMJ 2011. LUCIUS is going to be the biggest band in the world and they finally have some recorded music that will prove that. WILDEWOMAN came out today and it is flawless. I would give you highlight songs but it’s a solid record. Be about it.
CMJ is that time to find some new favorites and to run around town seeing your old. 5 days to truly have your life changed. Don’t sleep, New York :)
So - there is no Acoustic Night coming up in any foreseeable future, HOWEVER - Chris Faroe put together a great great great show that I am stage managing on Friday and I would love love love you all to attend! It will be at the amazing mansion that is the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture and will feature some of my favorites:: Swear and Shake, Emily Hope Price, Anthony da Costa, and Aba Kiser. It’s going to be beautiful and awesome and beautifully awesome. Be about it.
